RoboMACs Cover

RoboMACS?

It's a MAC in a Robo.

So, what are those?

MAC - Mobile Artificial Consciousness. Any self-motivating machine intelligence designed to operate some kind of body that allows it mobility. Of course, MACs are able to move, but like mobile homes, don't always do so.

Robo - Shorthand for RObot BOdy. Humans and MACs alike can pilot Robos, but MACs do a much better job and dominate the scene...resulting the name of the game.

A RoboMAC is the integration of a Mind and a Body.

This game is for all the fans of giant robot cartoons, live action shows, and manga who want to roleplay those kind of characters, but have found other systems too wargame-like. RoboMACs tries to have more of a dramatic, cinematic flavor to it, replacing hard numbers with general traits and 'hooks.' The rules are tilted more towards combat between humanoid or animalform Robos as opposed to vehicles, since that captures more of the feel of the genre.

The rules are useable for any kind of giant robot game, with an attempt to cover as much ground as possible in the mechanics and to allow for as many different campaigns as there are gamers.

Exodus?

Set in the years 2242 and after, Exodus is the story of interplanetary explorers who return home and find it's no longer home. They fight to free humanity from the yoke of computerized "Big Brothers." It can also be the story of a near-utopian society disrupted by the return of anarchic rebels from the past, armed with mysterious alien technologies and determined to destroy all that has been built in the past century. The heroes are not totally good nor the villains totally evil. As with most wars throughout human history, both sides are right...and both are wrong.

Exodus is a world designed to allow use of most of the rules presented in the RoboMACs Rulebook and hence has a wide variety of characters. Piloted Robos and RoboMACs, normal humans and superhumans (and aliens) all inhabit this universe. Like many universes, it has a few rules peculiar to itself, represented by some new game mechanics in the worldbook section.

Other RoboMACS Worlds?

There currently are no other RoboMACS worlds in print. There are a few possibilities in the works, but nothing definite at this time. If you write one up, be sure to let us know where to send people to get it!
